MARCH 6, 2026
MR. SHANNON SNITKER NAMED INCOMING ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR
The Rolla Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Shannon Snitker as the next Activities Director for Rolla Public Schools. Mr. Snitker will assume the role of Activities Director on July 1, 2026, following the retirement of Mr. Mark Caballero, who has served as the Rolla AD since 2017.
Mr. Snitker will step into this leadership role following his successful tenure as the Assistant Activities Director at Rolla Junior High School. He brings over two decades of experience in education, athletics, and recreational leadership to the position. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University (2002) and a Master’s degree from Missouri Baptist University (2014). A dedicated professional in athletic administration, he became a Registered Activities Administrator in 2024 and a Certified Activities Administrator in February 2026.
Throughout his career, Mr. Snitker has demonstrated a deep commitment to student-athlete development. He spent 13 years with the St. James School District (2008–2021) as a Physical Education, Health, and Driver Education teacher, while also serving as the Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Varsity Football and Basketball Coach.
Since joining Rolla Public Schools in 2021, Mr. Snitker has taught Health and Careers at Rolla Junior High and served as an assistant coach for both the high school football and basketball programs. In his most recent role as Assistant Activities Director, he has been instrumental in managing MSHSAA compliance, facility scheduling, and the establishment of the "Athlete of the Week" recognition program. He was integral in launching an initiative at RJH encouraging all students to join a club, activity, or sport, building a culture of belonging. His leadership was recently recognized on a broader scale when he received the Thaddeus Hamilton Middle School Athletic Director of the Year Award in 2024.
Before entering the classroom, Mr. Snitker served as a Recreation Officer at the Jefferson City Correctional Center, where he managed athletic leagues and budgets. His own athletic background is equally distinguished; he was a Division II Baseball All-America pitcher in 1999 and served as the Baseball Team Captain at Lincoln University from 2000 to 2002.
Mr. Snitker is married to his wife, Dr. Tori Snitker, and has two children, Catelyne Hayes (married to Colin Hayes) and Cade Snitker. He is a passionate advocate for fostering pride, work ethic, and integrity in school activities. Regarding his new appointment, Mr. Snitker stated: “I am incredibly honored to serve the Rolla community in this new capacity. I want to thank the Board of Education and the administration for their trust. Our activities programs are a vital part of the student experience, and I look forward to building on our proud traditions and supporting our coaches and students as they strive for excellence on and off the field.”
