Early Childhood ~ PUPS

Welcome to the RPS early childhood services - PUPS!

PUPS are: Preparing for kindergarten; Understanding our needs; Playing to learn; Succeeding in the pack!

RPS would love to show and tell you more about the programs and invite your young children to be PUPS!

PUPS screenings will be held in the spring for children who are at least four years old by July 31. After the screening, parents will know how their child is growing, developing, and learning. For questions call 573.458.0193.

Peer PUPS

The Peer PUPS program blends children with disabilities and their typically developing peers. The AM & PM 4-day a week (Monday through Thursday) program will meet the needs of all learners.

Early childhood special education services are available for children ages three to five with special needs. Peer PUPS participate in individualized, developmentally appropriate activities to meet the unique needs of children with disabilities.

Peer models enhance the education of children with delays as a helper, leader, and friend. Peers will participate in activities that will prepare them for kindergarten. They will gain confidence, build friendships, and learn empathy. The Peer PUPS program is located at Wyman Elementary.
For more information, please call 573.458.0193.

Pre-K PUPS

Pre-K PUPS is a half day AM & PM, 5-day a week program offered at all three elementary schools. Teachers implement a play-based program with emphasis on facilitating problem solving, social skills, language development, and motor skills.

Pre-K PUPS offers a place where children can acquire essential skills needed to be successful in future learning experiences.
