There are several options to check if school will be in session:

If you are a parent or guardian in the district, you will receive a call, text, email, and app notification via ParentSquare informing you of any weather-related closures, bus route changes, or schedule changes. Please download the free ParentSquare app from the Apple or Google Play store and sign in using the email associated with your parent portal account. Take a moment to ensure your contact information is correct in your parent portal account. 

Community members can find closure and weather-related information on our social media pages or on the district’s website homepage (rolla31.org). We will also share closure information with area radio and television stations, but please rely on district channels as your primary source.

Snow Day Procedures
Rolla Public Schools takes advantage of every resource available to allow parents and employees to find out whether or not school will be in session.

• The Superintendent, Transportation Director, and other staff members begin checking road conditions before 5:00 a.m. on inclement weather days and every effort is made to reach a decision by 6:00 a.m.
• As soon as a decision is made, parents are sent a phone call, email, and text, and ParentSquare app message. A pop-up is posted on all district websites and a post is made on district social media channels. An announcement is posted to the District's voicemail (573.458.0101).
• Area radio and TV stations are notified of closures as quickly as possible. Each of these stations has slightly different methods or times for making announcements. We are not responsible for when and how the media outlets run their announcements. Please go directly to district media channels for the most up-to-date information.
• In the event that school has been dismissed for the day, every effort is made to decide by 3:00 p.m. whether or not to return to classes the following day. Waiting until the afternoon allows the city, county, and state as much time as possible to clear roads.
• SNOW ROUTES ~ There may be times when it is necessary to run snow or emergency routes only. Routes can be found under the Transportation tab on the home page.
