MR. TANNER BEISTEL RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF MISSOURI’S OUTSTANDING BEGINNING TEACHERS
On February 17, 2025, at the spring conference of the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE), Tanner Beistel was recognized as one of Missouri’s Outstanding Beginning Teachers.
Mr. Beistel is a graduate of Rolla High School and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Missouri S&T. He is currently in his first year of teaching third grade at Mark Twain Elementary, Rolla. Mr. Beistel’s wife, Sydney, teaches fourth grade at Salem School District. “I really couldn’t have asked for a better first year, and I’m very thankful that I got to come back and teach at the district that I graduated from. It’s been a lot of fun to reconnect and learn from teachers I had in school, as well as meet some wonderful new people,” Mr. Beistel said of his experience at Mark Twain.
The Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE) is a state affiliate of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) and represents educator preparation programs across the state.
The Outstanding Beginning Teacher Awards recognize teachers in their first two years of service who demonstrate excellence in serving children in school districts across Missouri. Award recipients were selected based on recommendations from Missouri’s teacher education programs and a recommendation from honorees’ school districts.
All of the Outstanding Beginning Teachers received an award packet to commemorate their accomplishments, including a banner for display in their classroom or school. MACTE recognizes the contributions of these extraordinary teachers, as well as all of our excellent highly qualified teachers throughout Missouri who serve and educate our students.
