- The maximum points scored/awarded for each school varies based on the total student population (i.e., K-8, K-12) and the diversity found in those settings. The MSIP 6 Comprehensive Guide States:
- “To better differentiate among the needs of LEAs or schools and to ensure broader inclusion of students who have historically performed below the state average, Missouri will continue to report academic achievement for various demographic groups. In addition to overall performance for all students in the state, DESE will report academic achievement data for the following groups: low-income students ( defined as students who are direct-certified (DC) in the National School Lunch Program), students with disabilities (SWD), English learners (EL), and the state’s major racial and ethnic student groups. A review of Missouri data identifies five groups who tend to perform significantly lower than the state average: Black, Hispanic, DC, SWD, and EL students.”

Additional Context
- This report is focused on data from the 2024-2025 school year.
- The report reflects the ongoing impact of the pandemic, including its disproportionate effects on some student groups.
- It separates scoring for achievement status and growth and emphasizes them equally. Once scores reach “Target” designation, it can be difficult to gain growth points.
- It is one among many data points for stakeholders.
- Not all data points are measured each year. This is year 4 of 6 in R31's cycle.
