This is the image for the news article titled RHS Returns to 5-Day Seated 2/1/21We are pleased to share with you our plan to bring Rolla High School Students back to a 5-day (Monday-Friday) seated schedule on Monday, February 1, 2021. Students will have next week, January 25-29, where we will continue in our current Tuesday/Thursday and Wednesday/Friday groups, to prepare and adjust their schedules prior to returning full-time. We feel the shift is appropriate at this time based on decreasing positive COVID case numbers, both in the building and the surrounding community. We will continue to work closely with the Phelps/Maries County Health Department and other local health professionals to monitor conditions.

Bringing back the entire student population will result in a decreased ability to social distance in the building. For this reason, mask wearing and other mitigation strategies remain essential to our success. Students are required to be masked at all times, except when socially distanced, eating or drinking, or engaging in physical activities where masks are prohibitive. We will be sending out more communication next week reminding families of student expectations quarantine protocols. Current guidelines can be found on our website on the COVID Information page.

While we hope to have news regarding COVID vaccines for district staff very soon, please note that a vaccine has not yet been released for those under the age of 16. We will keep you apprised of that information as we receive it.

Once again, thank you for your patience and continued support as we have worked to keep everyone safe this year. We hope this is the first step in moving toward some normalcy within RHS as we move through the second semester.
