Want to become a substitute teacher but do not have 60 college credits?

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (DESE) alternate route to obtaining a substitute certificate through completion of 20 hours of online training will be available through February 28, 2021.

Individuals must have their substitute application submitted to DESE and the online training completed by the end of the day on February 28th. Upon DESE's receipt of all supporting documentation (i.e. cleared fingerprint background check, high school diploma or the equivalent, and certificate of completion of the online training), the substitute certificate will be issued, even if the documentation is received by DESE after February 28th.

Completion of Rolla Public Schools' substitute teaching forms will also be required.  Instructions and the forms can be picked up at the Administrative Offices located at 500A Forum Drive, Rolla or printed from the Rolla Public Schools' website at:  https://www.rolla31.org/district/employment/substitute_teacher_application
