March 5 Board Recognitions
The Board of Education recognized Elizabeth Kaelin for receiving 2nd place at the Poetry Out Loud Competition in poetry recitation. This is a national competition. The regional competition was held in St. Charles, MO. Elizabeth won the school competition in December 2019 and was able to advance to the regional competition. 
The Board of Education recognized the Wrestling team for an outstanding season. The wrestlers, led by Coach Marty Hauck, had over 100 kids participate in the program and had a combined dual record of 23 wins and 9 losses. This was the second year for women's wrestling in the state and over 40 girls participated in the Rolla women's wrestling team. They had a dual record of 10 wins and 3 losses. The men's team finished with a 13-6 season. They also finished the state wrestling tournament in the top 10 for the sixth consecutive year. Coach Marty Hauck is assisted by Jeremy Jamison, Keith Peterson, Kyle Meyer and volunteer coaches Brendon Fox and Kizzi Hutcheson. The wrestling team was nationally recognized this year by winning the Healthy Sport Index Award by the Aspen Institute. Out of the following wrestling state qualifiers, all but one is a multi-sport athlete.
Mya Burken - She went 23-13 this season and is Rolla's 2nd women's state
qualifier and qualified after only wrestling for two months. She is the current Ozark Conference 115 lb champion, Mya is an Academic All American and Academic All-Conference wrestler.
Hannah O'Connor - She went 34-4 this season and is the current Ozark Conference 135 lb weight class champion. She is Rolla's first women's team state placer placing 5th this season as a junior. She was selected Academic All-Conference, Academic All-State, and Academic All-American,
Zack Fennell - He went 43-4 this season at 126 lbs. He was the Kinloch, Branson, District, and Conference champion. He finished 2nd place at state and reached 148 career wins. 
Dathan Mickem - He went 35-9 this season and wrestled at 126 lbs. He was also selected Academic All-Conference, Academic All-State, and Academic All-American. He placed 4th at State this year. 
Nathan Pulliam - He went 35-9 this season and wrestled at 145 lbs. He was the Branson, Conference, and District Champion and an undefeated State Champion for the second season in a row. He was also selected Academic All-State and Academic All-American,
Andre Ridenhour - He went 37-15 and wrestled at 160 lbs as a sophomore. He placed 5th at the State Tournament. 
Colton Franks - He went 21-10 this season and wrestled at 170 lbs. He qualified to wrestle at State. He will be furthering his academic and football career at Missouri S & T. 
Xander Sederburg - He went 12-6 this season and wrestled at 120 lbs. He qualified for state, but was unable to attend due to illness.
