COVID-19 Communications from Rolla Public Schools

The Rolla School District will continue to work closely with local health officials to monitor evolving circumstances and revise our operational plans as needed. In an effort to focus communications surrounding COVID cases, beginning the week of January 5, 2021, building level cases will be reported here in lieu of daily email/text notifications. Weekly summaries can be found below the dashboard. We will continue to personally notify directly any close contacts to each individual who has tested positive. We have placed a dashboard below where you can view continued reporting information for the entire district.

Those who are identified as close contacts to an individual testing positive will be notified by the health department and advised on quarantine dates and guidelines. Please click here to view our most current quarantine protocols. At any one time, we may have a number of staff members quarantined due to close contact with a positive case. Students and staff who are impacted by those absences will be contacted. We do not plan to identify those individuals in an effort to respect privacy and personal information. Also, only on-campus cases will be reported through Rolla Public Schools. Virtual student positive cases, for example, will not be tracked through our system.

The dashboard numbers below are fluid and represent the number of current active cases on the day they are posted. Numbers will be updated daily, or as cases are reported. Questions regarding this information can be directed to communications@rolla31.org

January 2021 Reporting Summary
COVID-19 is thought to be spread via person-to-person contact through contaminated air droplets exhaled by an infected person. As with controlling the spread of other viruses, we urge everyone to take preventive measures and monitor for symptoms daily. More information on our guidelines can be found on our website under Return to Learn. It is truly a community effort to minimize the spread of the virus and help us keep our schools safe, healthy, and open.
